There is something so incredibly hard bringing a perfectly healthy kid to a hospital. Josef went into neurosurgery to have his port placed today.My heart’s breaks knowing that from now on his life will be forever changed.
Of course, his surgery would be the same day that millions of people come into the city to celebrate the Toronto Raptors winning the NBA championship. Unfortunately, a shooting in the crowd caused all of the operating rooms in the city to be shutdown for hours, so our scheduled surgery end up being pushed back a couple of hours. Poor Josef had to go almost 24 hours without food, this was hard for a kid who is always eating.
His surgery was successful, our little man woke up and is eating, drinking and watching Peppa, he is such a champ! We pray that this will mean that he never experiences any of the awful symptoms of this terrible disease.
